Description
Paphiopedilum barbigerum is a very cute, compact growing species from China. The plants are quite small, with a leaf span of only 4″ or so. The flowers are fairly large relative to the small plant size. You can grow a specimen plant in a very small pot, and they grow rapidly. In a few years you can have a plant that will carry 6 or more flowers and not take up much precious bench space! A true miniature orchid species.
This species flowers in the fall and winter months. Their culture is easy. Moderate light and temperatures will keep them very happy. We recommend growing these like a complex hybrid. Just check out this link if you need help with finding the right conditions for your plants.
