Description
Anoectodes Charlotte’s Web is (Anoectochilus brevilabris x Macodes petola). It is a primary hybrid of two jewel orchid species. The benefit of making primary hybrids is that they have hybrid vigor. They tend to be easier to grow than either parent. We witnessed this first hand in the nursery as some Macodes petola melted down in a heat wave…they were right next to these plants, which grew quite nicely at the same time.
Jewel orchids are great for terrariums, as they like humid, shady conditions. Great companion plants for tropical frogs and other similar animals.
