Description
Paphiopedilum tonsum is a unique orchid species from Borneo. The species is found growing in humus as a terrestrial plant and as an epiphyte. You can learn more about its habitat at Jay’s site.
This cross was made with a type form of the species that was 50% album, crossed to an album. The result was 50% album and 50% type that carry the album gene.
These are easy to grow and flower. They like moderate light and intermediate temperatures, but they seem quite happy in our bright, hot nursery this summer.
