Description
Paphiopedilum javanicum is a fairly uncommon orchid species from the Indonesian islands. The plants are quite small and produce a rather tall inflorescence with a colorful green flower. It has not been widely used in hybridizing, possibly due to its rarity. Most of the possible primary hybrids have been made but not much else.
This plant is suitable for indoor growers and those with limited space due to its compact nature. It is fairly hardy but does not appreciate soggy media. Other than that just treat it like any other mottled leaf species or hybrid. It likes intermediate temperatures and does not require high light. More tips on growing can be found here.
