Description
Paphiopedilum helenae-tetraploid is a miniature species from China and Vietnam. We treated the parents in lab to produce tetraploids. The flowers on this species are relatively short-lived, but tetraploids have heavier texture and usually last longer. The flowers will also be larger than diploids.
Paphiopedilum helenae plants are tiny with charming flowers in the fall. It grows on rocks so it appreciates a well-drained potting mix. You can learn more about its habitat at Jay’s site.
