Description
Paphiopedilum ciliolare is a terrestrial orchid from the Philippines that produces attractive, lightly spotted flowers in the summer and fall. This species is found in wet forests and is notoriously difficult to grow. It is still a species that is on every serious hobbyist’s wish list. You can learn more abut this species on Jay’s site.
We have found that this species benefits from frequent watering. We still use our standard well-drained potting mix, but we water these more often…especially in the summer. You may find a mix that holds more moisture will work better for you, but we prefer to have more control over the water status and never have soggy feet.
