Description
Paphiopedilum gardneri is a small multifloral Paph from New Guinea. It is often lumped in with Paphiopedilum praestans (or wilhelminae or glanduliferum), or whatever they classify this group as these day. However, it is currently considered a unique species. There are a few more details on Jay’s site.
This species is darker than praestans (but often looks almost identical), but it is also a compact grower that will produce up to 4 flowers on the best grown specimens. It is easy to grow and takes up much less space than many standard multiflorals. Just grow it warm and bright, like most other multis.
