Description
Phragmipedium pearcei is a species found in Central America in very wet environments. How wet? They are often found along rivers and streams. During heavy rain they often spend extended periods completely under water. So that tells us that this species likes to be wet. It is a great plant for folks who like to water their plants frequently. You can learn more about the habitat of this species at Jay’s site.
Other than its need for moisture this species is relatively undemanding. It grows quickly to form attractive clumps of dark green grassy leaves with bright green flowers in the spring and summer.
