Phragmipedium Charleston Sunrise
Phragmipedium Charleston Sunrise (Bel Royal x Mem. Dick Clemens)
This is a brilliant red-orange hybrid that carries large flowers on tall stems. The flowers are larger and tend to have more down swept petals than the sample photo, which is a similar hybrid. A vigorous and relatively easy to grow Phragmipedium hybrid.
These are blooming size plants in 5″ pots, ready to spike next fall/winter.
Phragmipedium Charleston Sunrise is a cross between Phrag (Bel Royal x Memoria Dick Clemens). It is 50% Phragmipedium sargentianum, 38% Phragmipedium besseae and 12% Phragmipedium longifolium. It produces brilliant orange-red flowers on tall stems. The flowers appear sequentially so the plant stays in bloom for a long time.
The diverse genetic background of this hybrid makes it much easier to grow than the species that went into it. All three species involved have one thing in common; they do not like to dry out. This is because they come from areas with constant seepage moving through the root zone. Just follow our cultural tips and you will grow and flower this hybrid with ease!
