Description

Paphiopedilum moquettianum is a sequential blooming species from Indonesia and a few nearby islands. This species has larger flowers than most of the other species in the group. It is very impressive when in bloom. Since the flowers are produced sequentially the plant can stay in bloom for months on end.

This species is slow growing when small but once mature the plants are quite robust and easy to grow. Their natural habitat receives copious amounts of rain, but the plants grow on cliffs. This means the rain drains off quickly and the roots do not stand in water. They are quite adaptable in culture and tolerate a wide range of conditions. We grow them with our multiflorals in bright light and warm temperatures. They will be just as happy in moderate light and intermediate temperatures too. We have cultural tips here to help you grow your Paphs to their full potential.
